Design and Display
The iPhone SE (2022) shares the same design as its predecessor (iPhone SE 2020) and the iPhone 8. It is compact and thin but features larger bezels and a Touch ID sensor for biometric unlocking. The phone sports curved edges and a small 4.7-inch LCD screen with a 750 x 1334 resolution and 60Hz refresh rate.
Both the front and back of the phone are made of glass and there’s an aluminium frame between them. You’ll also find a tiny camera bump at the back.
Camera
The iPhone SE (2022) features a single 12MP rear camera and a 7 MP selfie camera. The main camera supports various shooting modes such as Portrait mode, and video recording modes like 4K, Slo-mo and Time-lapse. Apple also claims that the phone’s A15 Bionic chipset will bring improvements to the iPhone SE (2022)’s cameras, particularly in processing times.
Battery
The inclusion of the A15 Bionic chip offers battery improvements. The iPhone SE (2022), Apple claims, will get up to 15 hours of video playback, up to 10 hours of streaming video playback, and up to 50 hours of audio playback.
The phone also supports Qi wireless charging and 18W fast charging.
Value for Money
A 64GB iPhone SE (2022) will go for $719. That’s slightly pricier than the iPhone SE (2020) at launch. If you’re on a budget and would like to experience 5G connectivity and Apple’s A15 Bionic chip, the iPhone SE 2022 is a phone worth considering.
