Compared to their predecessors, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra sees a larger design modification as compared to the S22 and S22 Plus. The phone sees flat edges at the top and bottom of the device and the display curves gently at the sides. The device is also equipped with an armor aluminum frame and a Gorilla Glass Victus+ back.

The 6.8” display supports dynamic 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. With a peak brightness of 1,750 nits, images appear bright and richly colored on the phone.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra also comes with a built-in S Pen that sees notable improvements such as better responsiveness, more accurate handwriting-to-text conversions, and more.

The Galaxy S22 Ultra comes with a 108MP f/2.2 main camera with 85-degree wide-angle field of view, a 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera with a 120-degree field of view, and two 10 MP telephoto cameras. The phone sees a 40MP front-facing camera for improved portraits and selfies.

Samsung also introduced new night mode features which use a new
2.4um pixel sensor to capture more light than previous cameras on earlier Samsung handsets.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is powered by a 5,000 mAh battery, which should last you over a typical day. When you do need to charge up the device, the S22 Ultra supports 45W charging, a significant upgrade from the 25W charging in the Galaxy S21 Ultra. You’ll need to separately purchase the charging brick though - Samsung does not include a charger in the box.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is a flagship, both in price and specs. Its cheapest version, with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, will set you back AU$1,849. With such a premium price tag, the S22 Ultra isn’t a phone for everyone. However, if you’re looking for a top-of-the-line smartphone with a built-in stylus and tons of great specs, consider the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
