In terms of design, those coming from the Samsung S8+ will not be able to see much of a difference. Both phones feature a 6.2-inch curved ‘Infinity’ Super AMOLED display. Pictures and videos look great on the Samsung Galaxy S9+. The phone’s metal and glass design comes off as premium and bezels are slim along the edges. Samsung also made a slight tweak to align the rear fingerprint sensor more centrally.

For many, S9+’s new 12MP dual-aperture camera system will be the phone’s major selling point. With it, you get enhanced low-light and bright-light image and video-taking capabilities along with new features like Super Slow-mo recording, AR Emoji, and Bixby Vision.

Like its predecessor, the S9+ packs a 3,500mAh battery. Battery life is decent: you’d get through a typical day on a single charge. The phone supports fast charging as well as Qi wireless charging.

With the S9+, Samsung stuck to the “if it ain't broke, don't fix it” mentality. The S9+ adds to the excellent features and capabilities of the S8+ and makes some essential tweaks. If you’re after a Samsung phone with solid specs, a great screen, and an excellent camera, the S9+ still holds its own in 2021.
