At first glance, S9 looks identical to the S8. It has a 5.8-inch OLED screen that offers the same technology and resolution as S8. Colours are vibrant and sharp. The maximum brightness on the S9 has also been increased. Samsung also upgraded the S9's design by featuring Gorilla Glass 5, making it hardier than the S8.

S9’s rear camera sees a new and improved 12MP sensor that offers better image processing. Its camera technology can effectively switch between apertures to produce different photos in different shooting conditions. With lower aperture and improved signal processing, the S9 can also take better shots in low-light conditions to produce photos with less noise.

No upgrades were made to the battery pack on the S9. Its 3,000mAh is average and will not be able to last a full day of heavy usage on a single charge. The saving grace? S9 offers fast charging via USB-C port and can charge wirelessly too.

S9 was one of the best phones to be released in 2018. Although it saw few upgrades from the S8, Samsung upgraded it where it matters. While it is no longer a cutting edge Samsung product, the S9 is still a solid phone with a beautiful display, excellent camera, and durable design. Furthermore, with newer phones on the market, you can get the phone at a drastically lower price.
